Ukrainian “Ramadan”


On the following pages I will share pieces I’ve written and translated (from Ukrainian) about aspects of the Ukrainian winter holiday cycle.  Ukrainian jokingly refer to this period as Ukrainian “Ramadan” because it begins with (St.) Roman on December 1st and ends with Yordan (Epiphany) on January 19th.
